Announcing our Partnership with MAZ, a Media Technology Company

While we often think about how mobile changed the landscape for brands, beginning with apps, the change was even more dramatic for media companies. Consumers are accessing their favorite content on-demand from a variety of devices. While this creates challenges, it also spells opportunity for those content creators who lean in and embrace the latest innovations in technology and data.

Today we are excited to announce we are partnering with MAZ, a New York based media technology company on the forefront of OTT and mobile technology to allow media giants such as Bloomberg, Gannett, Forbes, Rodale, Fast Company, and more, to integrate and orchestrate their entire growth stack, enabling them to win in key moments of the customer journey.

MAZ customers will now have access to mParticle’s Growth API which gives brands instant access to over 100+ marketing and measurement tools without requiring one-off integrations and app code updates. Marketers can onboard their customer data to tools like Google Analytics, Flurry, Comscore, Adjust and Branch with a few clicks.

What exactly does MAZ do?

MAZ offers over-the-top and mobile CMS platforms to TV broadcasters and news based media brands, easily allowing media companies to build and manage apps across multiple app stores from one single dashboard. We created a platform essentially, very much in parallel to what you would say WordPress did for the web, we did for the native app world. So we said to our publishers, give us your content, we’re gonna create a really UX UI centric app, which we’ll keep updated with new features and all sorts of things to make sure it works across all the devices: iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Amazon Fire, and HTML5.

What types of brands do you work with?

We now have over a thousand live apps across mobile and OTT, our range of clients vary from Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, to OK!, Us Weekly, Cosmopolitan, WebMD and some niche B2B titles.

Why did you decide to partner with mParticle?

We have a multitude of clients that really vary in terms of what analytics and marketing platform they want us to integrate into their app. The challenge was when you start putting in this unlimited combinations of third-party SDKs, it gets really complicated. A lot of the times these SDK providers don’t update their coding when Apple updates their OS for example, which can break the app. As the app developer, we knew we had to solve for this problem.

When we got introduced to mParticle, they told us all we have to do was put in one single SDK that can manage these hundreds of tools. We were like, this is too good to be true.

Now when our clients come to us and say, “Hey, we want to use Omniture,” we’d say “OK great, we can make that work for you, don’t worry about it – as opposed to, in the past, we would have to go evaluate that particular SDK provider, talk to them, then implement the SDK and release a new version of the app.”

What are you most excited about with this partnership?

We are most excited to give our clients the flexibility to change their toolsets over time without having to worry about data loss. Not only does mParticle have an impressive list of existing integrations but they continue to innovate and add rich features and integrations that helps publishers stay ahead of the competition.
