Xamarin is an open source, .NET-based cross-platform development toolset, allowing you to create native applications for multiple platforms, including iOS and Android. mParticle’s Xamarin SDK allows you to use mParticle to track user activity in your Xamarin apps, and connect your application data to over 175 services to better understand how users interact with your applications.

Event tracking

The Xamarin SDK provides bindings for mParticle’s existing iOS and Android SDKs, providing you with full access to mParticle’s event tracking capabilities in your Xamarin apps. Events include navigation, location, search, transaction, user content, user preference, and social actions.

For example, if a user selects a product in your eCommerce app, but does not purchase it, you can use that event information to lead the customer to complete the transaction through retargeting and remarketing. You can also use this data to identify pain points in the transaction flow to increase transaction completions across the board.

Actionable user data

Event data is made more powerful by mParticle’s ability to consolidate and resolve user identity across multiple platforms. With mParticle and Xamarin, you can create functional, native applications, and understand who your users are and what actions they take while using your application, even if they use multiple devices. User attributes can also be used to segment and analyze users further to make the data more actionable.

User identity and user attributes can be collected automatically by including a few strings of code when instrumenting your SDK as detailed in the Github repo.

Get started

The mParticle Xamarin SDK can easily be included in your Xamarin project through NuGet. If you prefer, you can also manually build the project in Xamarin Studio or your terminal as detailed in mParticle’s documentation.  Using Cordova? We also have you covered.
